8x - 10 = 4 + x

8x - x = 4 + 10

7x = 14

x = 14/7

x = 2

c) 12x – 1= 2(5x - 2) + 1

12x - 1 = 10x - 4 + 1

12x - 10x = - 4 + 1 + 1

2x = - 2

x = - 2/2

x = - 1

b)2(x + 8) + 3 = 4 - 3x

2x + 16 + 3 = 4 - 3x

2x + 3x = 4 - 16 - 3

5x = - 15

x = - 15/5

x = - 3

d) x(x + 1) + 12 = x(x - 5)

x² + x + 12 = x² - 5x

x² - x² + x + 6x = - 12

7x = - 12

x = - 12/7
